Progettoborca Crowdfunding – Residencies and Lab for Landscape

Progettoborca – Residencies and Lab for Landscape, is the name of the Crowdfounding campaign we’re launching on Semptember 1st 2016, and through which we’d like to put into practice the operative and productive capabilities inside the extraordinary former Eni Village of Borca di Cadore as a whole, and inside the Colonia (Eng.: summer camp building) in particular.

We’d like to remind that the Colonia, gigantic architectural compound created by Edoardo Gellner, and later abandoned from 1991 to 2014, has become in that year a pivotal centre for the functional regeneration and re-conception started by Dolomiti Contemporanee together with Minoter.

During these three years, thousands of people have been able to visit this extraordinary site that culture, artistic and planning work, and the activation of diverse partner networks, have transformed into a great hub of contemporaneity, which is rethinking the function of this powerful Space, finally awoken once more, that shows off its incredible inclination to welcome practices connected to research, experimentation and creative work in new and better ways every day.
The objective of Progettoborca is the functional reprocessing of a site whose historical and cultural relevance, linked to architecture and landscape, as well as welfare and innovation history, is unprecedented in Italy and has very few similar examples in the world.

In these three years, almost a hundred and fifty people, among artists, architects and designers have come to Borca, and lived in the Residency active inside the Village, and have worked together with us, on ideas and practices, helping us develop a great shared project, whose potential grows each day.

This Crowdfunding becomes necessary, now: through it, we’d like to acquire tools and machines, to ease work and to equip the various Labs already active inside the Village with an even better productive ability.

The (printing, auto-building, digital manufacturing) lab-spaces, must become permanent, and the Residency itself must be given more operative power.
This way, working inside the Colonia will become more and more comfortable, it will be possible to tackle more complex projects, and the entire process of regeneration, while maintaining its core (of research, of experimentation) intact, will be able to become structural, making it possible to further improve its ability to perform, and allowing Progettoborca to evolve into a permanent experience.

Progettoborca already is a cultural and artistic platform, with such defining characteristics as to make it a peculiar experience in the landscape of innovation and reactivation culture in Italy and Europe.
With your help, we will be able to push forward even further, expanding the Space of the project, heightening its performative abilities, and to take advantage of all the outstanding potential of a site like Borca, whose regeneration is both a cultural responsiblity and a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate how contemporary culture is able to collect the great stimuli hostory offered here, to make of them a new, great “construction site” of thought, and action.

Here, the “Coming Soon” page of Progettoborca Crowdfunding Indiegogo.
On September 1st, the platform will go on-line.
