DC + H-Farm = H-Campus in Progettoborca
progettoborca news: H-Campus di H-Farm at the Village
There are many activities in Dolomiti Contemporanee‘s 2016 lineup, all inside its site-hubs spread throughout the Dolomiti-Unesco‘s landscape, one that we work on every day, living and breathing its nature, acting it within its culture.
And, for the third year in a row, the former Eni Village of Borca di Cadore, together with Casso, will be the most performing post, the foremost catalyst of artistic and cultural reactions, connected with research and experimentation, and, for the first time, with educational training.
Among the new, important partnerships of the sixth season of DC, is the one with H-Farm, the platform of digital innovation and startup incubator launched in 2005 by Riccardo Donadon in Roncade.
And one of the callings of H-Farm is indeed the training of young people, that – waiting for H-School – is developed inside H-Campus, central project of the education area of the Farm, directed by Carlo Carraro.
And thus, from the 8th to the 20th of August 2016, inside the great, polyhedral, experimental lab of Progettoborca, the Dolomiti Digital Camp will take shape.
It is going to be the first digital summer camp by H-Campus to take place outside the historic headquarters of Cà Tron in Roncade: this time, the immersion will, in fact, occur, in the exceptional environmental context of Belluno’s Dolomites.
Two weeks of labs on location, among woods and peaks, and inside the extraordinary former Eni Village of Borca, open to young people and kids from 10 to 15 years of age, in which to mix art, culture, nature and digital, among 3D printers, an high-tech treasure hunt.
An experience of digital labs on location, among nature, art and design, which is going to see teachers, tutors, and young people working together the artists taking part in the residency project on themes like design, thinking, tinkering, LittleBits, 3D printing, Minecraft, art and nature.
We’d like to remind that, in 2014, Dolomiti Contemporanee and Minoter have activated Progettoborca, an articulated regenerative platform of the former Eni Village of Borca, extraordinary settlement made up of numerous reception facilities, which can all be visited (Hotel Boite and Corte Residence, single-family cottages, Church of Our Lady of the Cadore, Colonia, Camping).
And it is exactly in this exceptional site, that to this day represents a unique case of social and business view and culture in Italy’s history, that DC and H-Farm, two different projects bonded by their common drive for innovation and research, and by a concrete projective outlook, have decided to activate a meaningful collaboration, which begins with the H-Campus labs.
Dolomiti Digital Camp
During the second and third weeks of August, the Dolomiti Digital Camp will find home in the structures of the former ENI Village of Borca di Cadore.
Taking advantage of the environmental and artistic splendour of the site, the kids involved will be able to seize some spaces inside the Village and to re-think them thanks to the digital labs, to the tools of thinking design and to the workshops with the artists taking part in the project.
The kids will be supported by the teachers and tutors of H-CAMPUS, to bring them closer to a new way of exploring and enhancing the location they’re in through geocaching activities, a treasure hunt 3.0, where the GPS replaces written notes. They will get in contact with the artists currently in-residence who will be involved in the workshop, to stimulate their creativity and expressive abilities through tinkering, bringing forgotten and recovered objects back to life. They will discover how nature and digital can get in touch: moulding and scanning in 3Dimensions; learning to use simple electronic components (LittleBits) able to connect the physical and virtual world; using Minecraft to bring the Village inside the popular videogame.
It is possible to completely immerse oneself in the adventure of the Dolomiti Digital Camp stying overnight in the structures of the former Eni VIllage, but also to choose the day option, getting there in the morning to attend the labs and then go back home for the night.
That is because a quota of the available spots is reserved for the people living close by.
We’re working for the involvement of some local authorities of the Belluno Province (Magnificent Community of the Cadore, Federation of Italian Employers – Belluno Dolomites, Bim Piave Group), thanks to whose support we will be able to favour the partecipation of young people from the Cadore and Belluno areas with a lower price, hopefully for free, through the setting of a few Scholarships.
