now in casso
For summer/autumn 2023, Dolomiti Contemporanee is proposing two exhibitions at the New Space in Casso, both centered on the guiding theme Of Forests and Waters.
In general, since DC reopened the former Casso Schools together with the Municipality of Erto and Casso and other partners (September 2012), the exhibitions have offered alternating content.
A contemporary art exhibition has often been followed the following year by an exhibition that has included content of another nature, often related to the themes of research and design on Landscape and Heritage, and their regeneration, in a transformative vision of the Vajont area.
These are some of the main themes that DC works on in all the sites where we are active, together with the Research Institutes we collaborate with (Universities, Schools, other Institutions, companies), often creating relationships between the sites themselves, in an aggregative logic of openness and dissemination, of visions as well as practices.
We can define this approach as a critical geography program for Interconnected Landscapes (Alpine Archipelago).
In 2022, the exhibition Who Killed Bambi?, featured 96 artists.
A large group show of international scope, chock full of stimuli, ideas, research, territorial investigations, plastic intelligence, related to the identity, resources, insipiences, of the contemporary mountain. In 2023, the Casso Space will host two exhibitions, different and linked by the guiding theme, Of Forests and Of Waters.
The contemporary art exhibition, Forest Neoformations, will be housed on the two upper floors, and will see some 20 artists grapple with the proposed themes through the mediums proper to the contemporary (painting, sculpture, installation, video).
On the other hand, the research developed on the territory with universities and other Schools, will find its place on the two lower levels of the Exhibition Space, and will be divided into several subsections.
Title of this exhibition The Critical Forest (Radical Renewal). The subsections are: Alien Forest (Alien Forest) and Anatomy and Dynamics of a Territory.

A selection of more than twenty artists is installed on the two upper floors of the New Space in Casso. The themes of forest and water are treated through painting, sculpture, installation, and video.
All a stream between the round concrete columns, we intercept a small leak that descends into the Space from the flat roof, that drop on the black rubber on the ground imprints the crush that insect sole.
