workshop with the artist Giuseppe Caccavale
Scrittoio. istituto di traduzione. – prima parte (/writing desk. institution of translation. – part 1) is a workshop organized by the artist Giuseppe Caccavale from the Valentina Bonomo Gallery in collaboration with Dolomiti Contemporanee.
The workshop is the starting point of a wider project that will continue at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Marseilles through an exhibition titled Le pont, curated by Thierry Ollat.
5 students attended the workshop held in Taibon (at the Taibon Block): Massimo Campedel, Alice Da Ros, Anna Fietta, Arianna Licori, Niccolò Paganin. The workshop focused on the poetical work of Ossip Mandelstam and Christian Guez Ricord. In this first part of the project the students will translate some passages from the books Journey to Armenia by Ossip Mandelstam, and Hope against hope by Nadezhda Mandelstam, the poet’s wife.
With this workshop Dolomiti Contemporanee became part of an international path, that testifies DC’s original attitude of being an art lab in location, nowhere, everywhere.
“The Dolomites in this part of the project are a sort of a blackboard where we write time and words to clarify our present [...].” (Giuseppe Caccavale).
The outcome of the workshop became an exhibition part of the secon exhibition cycle at Taibon Agordino. More info here.
