Saturday, November the 14th, former Vas paper mill, another passage for dc
On Saturday, November the 14th, the last 2015 milestone for Dolomiti Contemporanee in Vas. After the collective exhibit Paper Weight, inaugurated this past September (on the 11th) in the extraordinary rooms of the former Paper Mill, which has seen artworks from the artists Silvia Vendramel, Maja Thommen, Elena Carozzi, Beatrice Meoni, Phillippa Peckham, and after the unveiling of A Little Song by Fabiano De Martin Topranin, a piece acquired by the Municipality of Quero Vas, the final installment in this articulate series of events will soon take place, which will include the presentation of Now, an artwork by Giacomo Rosson, as well as Weapons and Navy Seal, by Giuseppe Vigolo.
The finissage (this word has always sounded obtusely empty and lazy: we use it sometimes, ironically, smirking) will take place on Saturday, November the 14th, at 4:30 PM, at the former Paper Mill of Vas.
It will thus be possible to see, for the last time, the set up of the exhibit Paper Weight, together with the works of other artists, that are subsequently going to be moved to other exhibition grounds, all linked to the theme of War.
Then, at dusk, the walls of the Paper Mill will be animated by a large projection: the video installation Dark shades (Shadows of War), by Giuseppe Vigolo.
Schedule:
- at 4:30 PM, a guided tour of Paper Weight
- at 5:30 PM, unveiling of new pieces by De Martin Topranin/Roccon/Vigolo
- at 7 PM, Dark Shades, video projection
We’d like to remind everyone that DC‘s action in Vas is inscribed in the Radici Future project, which is relized by the Union of the Municipalities of the Basso Feltrino Sette Ville – Alano di Piave and Quero Vas, and financed by the Veneto Region (L.R. 11/2014, art.9, “Remembrance events for the centenary of the Great War”).
The project’s aim is the enhancement of the locations linked to the Great War, as driving forces of memory and conscience, but also as possible future scenarios, as well as the requalification and enhancement of some strategic spots and sites along the Piave riverbank like, indeed, the former Vas Paper Mill.
We also would like to remind that some of the public spaces of the Paper Mill are currently being utilized by #lacharta, with which DC collaborates.
