Dolomiti Contemporanee hosts Protocombo.
Created in 2011 by Gianluca D’Incà Levis, DC works with contemporary art in the Dolomites, a UNESCO world heritage site.
The project differs from others with regards to the innovation of its cultural format. Its aim is to create new images of the land, which until now have been dominated by the mountains, and to oppose banal stereotypical representations.
Large abandoned sites, such as run-down factories, industrial archaeological estates and particularly significant civil artefacts are recovered and brought back to life through visual arts, curatorship and artist residencies with the aim of focusing on and redefining the identity of these places.
Protocombo is Michele Gabriele, T-Yong Chung, Jonathan Vivacqua.
The three artists are one shared and collective author: the content of one artist’s work inspires, is the creative pretext for the other artists. Protocombo interprets the Bubble in a large spatial installation.
