July the 11th, press conference DC 2015 in borca, and public opening of the Colonia

On Saturday July the 11th, the fifth season of Dolomiti Contemporanee (DC) will be launched: TERRAFORMAZIONE will begin.

The official Press Conference, open to the public, will take place inside the Eni Village of Borca di Cadore, important “constriction site” for DC ever since last year, when the Progettoborca platform was introduced. The Village (Colonia, new Progettoborca offices, Our Lady of the Cadore Church) will be open to the public.

At 2 PM, the journalists and public will be welcomed in the new offices of DC in Borca, inside the former reception building of the Colonia, another one of Gellner’s creations (Via Mattei 5). Everyone will then move to the Lower Cabin of the Colonia (Eng.: summer camp building), where the Press Conference will take place. Here, the projects and schedule of the summer-autumn season of DC will be presented, relating to both  Borca and Casso (Nuovo Spazio di Casso), to the International Artistic Contest Two calls for Vajont, to the new sites (Paper Factory of Vas) and to the new active collaborations. The TERRAFORMAZIONE Communication Campaign by Fabio Balcon of Bra_ba_m will also be presented. Some never-before-seen artworks, realised in the last few weeks by the artists taking part in the Residency program in Borca, will also be shown.

schedule:

2 PM: reception at the new offices of Progettoborca, realised thanks to the support of Minoter. The offices occupy the former reception building of the Colonia, another one of Gellner’s creations (Via Mattei 5). They house an area of public reception and info-point on the Village, and a bookshop put together with the collaboration of the Tarantola Bookshop of Belluno (texts on Gellner, Scarpa and on the architecture of the mountain, on art and design, on mountaineering and landscape), as well as the offices of Dolomiti Contemporanee. The building is also the new way into the Colonia.

2:30 PM: Lower Cabin in the Colonia: official Press Conference for the launch of the fifth season of Dolomiti Contemporanee, with the presentation of the projects and activities that will take place in Borca, Casso, and in the area of the Vajont, at the former Paper Factory of Vas, and other sites. The Communication Campaign 2015, titled TERRAFORMAZIONE, realised by Fabio Balcon of Bra_ba_m will also be presented.

3:30-5:30 PM: Open-studio at the Colonia,  along with a visit to the structure and a presentation of the new artworks realised by the artists taking part in the residency project (Min-Ji Kim, Michelangelo Penso, Marta Allegri, Gianni De Val).

5:30 PM: Visit to the Church of Our Lady of the Cadore.

6:30 PM: Happy Hour-buffet on the balcony of the Auditorium (Colonia).

6:30 PM: music-performance at the Bears Cage.

How to get to the Eni Village:
The former Eni Village of Borca di Cadore is located inside the great woods at the foot of the southern slope of Mt. Antelao. Those arriving from Belluno, from the Alemagna SS 51, once having reached Borca di Cadore, should follow the road signs pointing towards “Villaggio Corte delle Dolomiti”. Turn right at the Eni gas station, towards Mt. Antelao. At that point, you’re already inside the wooded area of the Village. Follow the sings by Progettoborca.
