cristian chironi/My House is a Le Corbusier
My House is a Le Corbusier (CC2), support beam, two books. “The Esprit Nouveau pavillion and its double: chronicle of a reconstruction” by Alinea Editrice, Ichnusa beer bottle, single piece of variable size, 2015

A support beam is used as holder for a bottle of Ichnusa beer. In Sardinia, in Orani, once a bottle is emptied when quenching one’s thirst, construction workers use them as a tool to realize wall curves.
Two identical books by the title “The Esprit Nouveau and its double: chronicle of a reconstruction” are fixed at the extremities of the beam.
The artwork was displayed in the kitchen of the Esprit Nouveau in 2015, originally realized by Le Corbusier in Paris in 1925, and reconstructed in Bologna in 1977. The popular element of the Ichnusa beer, placed in the middle of the beam, breaks the intellectuality of the book, thus establishing the character of the artwork.
Aork in progress piece, “construction site” of ideas, research, didactics, exhibit, as well as residency at the same time, “My House is a Le Corbusier“ has the ambition of developing itself during a long period of time and establishing itself as the totality of all the experiences that Chironi will be able to realize inside the houses designed by Le Corbusier in the world, spending a variable amount of time in each of them. The long-term project (which will develop itself on the potential frame of 30 habitable pieces of Le Corbusier in 12 nations) is a performance stretched in time, house after house.
