A fresco is an artwork created in phases, in which the act of painting is distinctly timed starting from its very preparation. Such phases are called giornate (Eng.: days); the lapse of time in which the humidity of the portion of plaster that has to be frescoed lasts before, the following day, proceeding to spread another layer and continuing the paintwork. With her intervention the artist makes a pedestal, completely frescoed in the span of five days respecting the technique of the same name, into a sculpture. The fusion of painting, sculpture and architecture rendered in three dimensions avoids a figurative scope in favour of monochrome, letting the column seem, at first glance, a painted wall but underlining, in reality, the theme of the passage of time.
