During his formal training, the artist recovered and utilized previous students’ abandoned frameworks, found in the Urbino Fine Arts Academy‘s storage. At the end of his studies, he decided not to get rid of those frameworks, but to instead cut and reassemble them to build a raft; he added a sail to that base, and painted it to maintain the original function of the supporting structures. This way, the artist expresses his own reflection on painting, which is considered a noble form of human expression, recognizing however that it is not essential for survival. From these premises, he begins a reseach on the ultimate freedom of experimentation, although still accompanied by a moral responsibility towards history of art, constantly approaching new expressive solutions.
